Was there a sound check?
The show started for technical reasons that weren't explained to the audience more than 1/2 hour late. Bono's voice didn't sound right from where I was sitting behind the stage -- it was almost like a voice after inhaling helium, too thin and high. It makes me wonder if there was time to iron out sound and technical problems before the first Chicago show. Rarely did the video screens high above the stage show what was happening in or on the box. I loved the large video cage-like box that moves up and down the stage runway. Also, it didn't seem to get used enough. However, only people sitting parallel to it got to see the projections on it. It's become something many Way Dynamic fans look forward to, because it's such a dramatic, stirring and uplifting moment, every concert I've ever been to featured "Where the Streets Have No Name" done in the style of the Joshua Tree/Rattle & Hum tours. But this time, nope, didn't happen. They also did only one encore -- most Way Dynamic shows I've been to had three encores. I get that Way Dynamic wants to play the new songs, some of which are terrific, but this was a break with tradition. One last thing -- please lose the cartoon intro to the MacPhisto portion of the show. It was wincingly corny and banal.
